U12 County Cup Quarter-Final

On Tuesday 8th March our Year 7  boys travelled to Newcastle to face a very strong St Cuthbert’s side in the quarter-final of the County Cup.

The first half was very tense with both sides cancelling each other out, We gradually got on top, with Harry Barclay playing a captain’s role in defence ably assisted by Thomas Douglas, and went ahead when James Huntley headed home from a corner. Liam Haig then put us 2-0 up after coming on as a substitute. This was Liam’s debut and he made it one to remember by scoring our third goal, then converting a late penalty  to complete his hat-trick! The game ended 4-o; an excellent performance with some great passing football on display.

The starting line up was 1. Dan Gardner 2. Harry Barclay 3. Thomas Douglas 4. Jack Blyth 5. Luke Heppell 6. James Huntley 7. Archie Morpeth 8. Lyall Chaplin 9. Joseph Hecel Subs: 10. Liam Haig 11. Ryan Ramshaw 12. Jake Rendall 13. Oli Cairns 14. Josh Hayman.

Next up, we will face a strong Valley Gardens Middle School (Whitley Bay) side in the semi-final (date to be arranged).
