MacMillan Coffee Morning

As always, last Friday we supported the world’s biggest coffee morning run by MacMillan.

There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. By 2030, it will be 4 million people, and Macmillan’s goal is to be there for them all.

One in three of us will get cancer and it will be one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to face; MacMillan intend to make sure no-one faces cancer alone. They provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. And because cancer affects more than just those facing it, they are there for friends and family too.

Many Post 16 students made or brought in cakes for sale and this was supplemented by generous cake donations by lower school pupils and staff. Post 16 students voluntarily gave up their time to set up the cakes in the hall which they sold at break and lunchtime and there was a vast array of delicious treats available to buy. We raised a fantastic £257.93 and winner of the staff cake bake went to Catrina Clements for a superb jaffa cake!
