New rugby kit for AHS!
On Wednesday 16th September Harry Watson (Y7), Owen Gray (Y8), Ethan Turnbull (Y10) and Aaron McDonald (Y11) attended the Rugby Football Union’s Canterbury Rugby kit design workshop as part of the ‘All Schools Programme’.
Our students were shown the different steps and phases for designing the school’s new Canterbury Rugby kit by professional designers. They had to choose which materials, colours and patterns they wanted as well as create several images of the new-look shirt.
They came up with a unique design that means something to all of us here at Ashington High School. There is a shooting star on the front of the shirt to represent the school logo and on the back they chose the Woodhorn Pit Wheel to represent the history of Ashington, with the school house colours featuring between each spoke of the wheel.
The shirt colours are blue and red. Their design is now at the Canterbury factory awaiting production and we expect to receive the kit in February.
