Post-16 Prom

Earlier this month, Year 13 students attended their Leavers Prom at The Assembly Rooms in Newcastle. Students arrived at school looking very glamorous in their prom dresses and suits and were transported by coach to Newcastle. The room was beautiful with high ceilings and chandeliers and was decorated with gold and black balloons and at each place setting sweet favours tied with gold and black bows. Staff and students were served very efficiently with a delicious 3 course meal. This was followed by an Awards Ceremony, a speech by Ms Bell outlining the highlights of students time in the sixth form and the most important part of the evening, revealing who had been voted Prom King and Queen. Rowan English and Beth Ross we’re crowned this years Prom King and Queen by Mr Douglas. The evening concluded with lots of dancing!

A huge thank you goes to Jan Hume for organising a fabulous event to celebrate the end of our Year 13 students’ time at Ashington High School.
